The Birdhouse Foundation

The Court Baxter Team is very excited to partner with a young “difference maker” in our community!   Connor Withers, who started The Birdhouse Foundation in 2013 at just 8 years old, makes birdhouses from discarded wood with all sales going to The Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.  To date, Connor has raised close to $50, 000 for our community hospital.  From today until June 16th, The Court Baxter Team is donating an additional $5 for every birdhouse sold to further support our community.  These birdhouses make GREAT housewarming gifts, Father’s Day gifts, or are simply a beautiful addition to your own backyard. To place your order: please email the quantity, the colour (red or blue), your name and delivery address along with an e-transfer of $25 to thebirdhousefoundationJBH@gmail.com  Birdhouses will be dropped off on your porch gift wrapped on June 18 and June 19, just in time for Father’s Day.

At just 8 years old, Connor Withers became a difference-maker.

From discarded wood, Connor makes birdhouses; colourful, useable, sustainable and impactful under the name The Birdhouse Foundation.  Since 2013, sales of these birdhouses have generated more than $40, 000 for Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.

In 2013, the Ontario Community Newspaper Association named Connor “Ontario Junior Citizen of the Year” and in 2017, in celebration of Canada’s 150th, Connor was recognized by the provincial Government as an individual who “embodies the qualities and values that make our province great”.   The Mayor of Burlington cites that Connor “has sparked the community, corporations and small businesses to follow his lead and open up their hearts to give back to our city”.

Connor is an outstanding role model to other young philanthropists.  He has spoken to schools, the Girl Guides of Canada and several businesses.  The MEI International Academy was so moved by Connor’s initiative that they installed a birdhouse in both Tanzania and Hong Kong.  The Birdhouse Foundation has achieved global recognition.

Behind every great philanthropist, there is a wonderful support system and Connor’s family always has his back.  His Dad, Tim, taught Connor his carpentry skills, and collaborates on marketing ideas and growth opportunities.  His entire family serves as a network for promotion and sales.

Connor’s initiative is a unique combination of philanthropy, entrepreneurship, environmentalism and sustainability. Connor Withers is making a difference, one birdhouse at a time.
